The story of Delhi Diesel Engineers, and why so many clients have stayed with us for so long.
We began in 1994 with very little except a conviction that most of the trade had it backwards. They sold generators and forgot the customer. We wanted to do the opposite. Look after the machine, look after the people who depend on it, and the business takes care of itself.
"People do not remember who sold them a generator. They remember who showed up when it stopped working. That is the business I set out to build in 1994."
— Tayyab Chaudhary, FounderThirty years later, that is still exactly how we work.
Anyone can sell you a diesel set. The difference shows up the moment it fails, when your office, your factory, or your event suddenly goes dark and the only thing that matters is getting power back. That moment is what we built the business around.
We learned generators the slow way, by repairing thousands of them, across every major brand, in every condition. A machine someone else has given up on is often one we can bring back. That is not a sales line. It is what we have done for three decades, and it is why people who could buy from anyone keep calling us instead.
What began as a local repair business grew further than we ever planned. We have serviced more than 950 generators for Delhi government schools. We have looked after a 1000 KVA set at Jamia Hamdard University. We kept Domino's outlets running across Delhi NCR through the 2000s. Our work has taken us to Dehradun, Jammu, Goa, Gwalior, Mumbai, Visakhapatnam, and once, through a contractor, as far as the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Different cities, different scales, the same standard. We treat a school's generator with the same care as a university's.
A Cummins set in our care.
This work is not only how we earn a living. It is a craft we keep getting better at. We are members of the Noida Entrepreneurs Association and the NTA technical body, and we have represented the trade internationally, including at AAPEX in Las Vegas through IamSMEofIndia. We mention it for one reason. When you hand us your generator, you are handing it to people who take the work as seriously as you take your business.
Today we cover the full life of a generator. Renting one when you need power fast. Repairing and maintaining the one you already have. Buying your old set when you are done with it, and selling you a tested one when you need a replacement. And for clients in aviation, specialist ground power and air conditioning unit repair.
Whatever you need, it starts with a conversation.
"Call me. Tell me the problem. We will sort it out. That is how it has always worked."
— Tayyab ChaudharyThirty years of experience is only useful to you if we put it to work for your business.
